Members' Drop-In Care

Child care is included with a Single Parent Family or Family membership.  Only children who are on your membership plan are eligible.  Parents are able to leave children registered in Kid Zone for up to 2 hours while involved in YMCA activities.  We require parents to provide us with their child(ren)'s current shot record, and "Y kids" registration before child(ren) can be placed in Kid Zone.  Parents are not allowed to leave the facility without their child(ren).  All of our Kid Zone staff are CPR and First Aid certified.

Early Childhood Center

Registration Fees: 

$35  (6 weeks - 12 mos)

$50  (13 mos - 5 years)

 

Fees:  

 6 weeks - 17 months/ $120 per week

18  - 23 months / $100 per week

Toddlers :    24 - 35 months/ $100 per week

Preschool 1:  36 - 47 months/ $105 per week

Preschool 2:   4 - 5years old/ $105 per week

 

After-School Program

(Elkhart, Westwood, and Palestine ISD)

Our After-School Program is safe, reliable, quality child care for your child(ren) during the hours of 3-6 pm.  We offer a variety of activities both adult- and child-directed including arts and crafts, climbing wall, games and much more. Help with homework is an option for parents that desire it. We provide supervision for school children ages 3-12(3 yr. olds must be enrolled in the HeadStart program to qualify for this program).  We are licensed by the Texas Department of Protective and Regulatory Services, and abide by all TDPRS minimum standards. 

 

We now accept CCS payment. 

Scholarships are available for those who qualify.

                         Registration: Ongoing

               Session Time: After school care ends at 6 p.m.

Fee: $50 registration fee, plus

$50/week member, $60/week participant

$20/day drop-in, 24-hours notice required with completed registration form.

 

 

 

Holiday Camp

(Christmas Camp, Spring Break Camp)

Session time: 7am-6pm Mon-Fri (when area schools are closed)

Ages: 5-12 years old, Head Start students accepted.

Fees:  Registration fee (waived for after-school care registrants)

$20 per day with advance notice.

 

 

Day Out Of School Clubs

Session Time: Monday thru Friday - 7am - 6pm (various days when school is out)

Ages: 5-12 years old, Head Start students accepted

Fees: $50 registration fee (waived for after-school care registrants), $10/per day for after-school care registrants

 

 

 

 

 

Child Abuse Prevention

The Palestine YMCA is committed to the safety of the members and guests within our YMCA facilities and activities. Children  participate in a wide variety of YMCA activities including day camp, child care, sports, aquatics, education opportunities, and more. To ensure an environment of safety for the children within the organization, the YMCA checks the criminal background history and the references of all staff who come in contact with the children. The staff must sign a code of conduct and attend child abuse prevention training to educate them in the expectations of the YMCA. Included in this training is the fact that staff are not allowed to have planned activities with children registered in YMCA programs while they are off duty unless it has been cleared with the CEO. These planned activities include babysitting, private lessons while they are off duty, and other "get-togethers". The YMCA does a superior job of supervising the staff while they are inside the YMCA and addresses any known problems without delay. If you have any concerns, questions, or suspicions, please contact the YMCA immediately because safety and satisfaction are our goals. We appreciate your participation at the YMCA and are devoted to providing a positive experience to everyone involved.

 

 

 

Summer Day Camp

When school is out, summer fun is in! From aquatic activities to field trips, the Palestine YMCA engages school aged children in a variety of activities to help build character and personal values.

 

Registration:  May 5, 2008

Session Time: 7am-6pm Mon-Fri

(from June 2 till August 22)

 

Ages: Kindergarten Graduates - 12 year olds

Fees:  $35 Registration fee per child

$70/Member, $80/Participant (per week per child)

Drop-in $20 per day (only if space allows) plus registration cost

 

 24-hours notice required with completed registration form.

 

Children will be allowed to eat breakfast brought from home between 7am - 7:30am only. 

Your child is required to bring a sack lunch unless the camp is having a special theme lunch.  If this occurs you will be notified at the beginning of the week.

Nutritious snacks are provided morning and afternoon.

A monthly snack menu is posted in the sign-in areas.  Children may not purchase snacks from the vending machines.
