Wellness Center Rules

  • Members age 15 years and older may use the Wellness Center unsupervised. (ORIENTATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

  • Members ages 13-14 years old may use the Wellness Center unsupervised ONLY after attending Youth Wellness Program.

  • Members ages 9-12 years old may use the Wellness Center ONLY after attending Youth Wellness Program and MUST exercise with an adult at all times.

  • Only proper attire and athletic shoes should be worn in the wellness center. (No denim, open toe or open heel shoes allowed)

  • No food or drink allowed in wellness center other than bottled water.

  • Session 12: Sept 19 & 20 Friday (night) 5:30-7:30pm and Saturday (morning) 11am-12pm

This is an exercise program for youth ages 9-14 years. It is a structured class designed to teach proper form and technique for various exercises. All 9-14 year olds must complete and pass the youth wellness program, which includes a written and practical exam, before access is granted to the wellness center.

Members and guests under the age of 15 may not enter the Wellness Center.  This program certifies children ages 9-12 to enter the Wellness Center with an adult and certifies 13-14 year olds to enter without the  need of immediate supervision but must have a family or youth membership.

Fitness Assessment

 

Members:  $30.00 - Participants:  $40.00

(One hour session)

Ages:  15 years old and up

Registration: Ongoing

 

A fitness assessment is being offered independently of personal training for those interested in charting their own progress.  Designed to help set a starting point for those beginning an exercise plan.  This session records body fat, blood pressure, range of motion, resting heart rate, and muscular strength and endurance.

Fitness Orientation

 

This is a free service to our members!

Are you a new member or a current member who is not sure how to use the equipment? Do you need some guidance and direction on how to get your exercise program started? Schedule an appointment with one of the fitness staff at the back desk!

Personal Training

 

Members:  $25 hr - Participants:  $50 hr

3 Sessions: Members: $70 - Participants: $145

5 Sessions: Members: $115 - Participants: $240

10 Sessions: Members: $225 - Participants: $475

Reach your fitness goals with personal training.  From wellness beginners to more advanced exercisers, one-on-one personal training is a key to reaching the level of physical fitness you desire.  Personal training requires registration for a minimum of two sessions.  The first session will include a fitness assessment which will record physiological data, body composition, cardio respiratory endurance, muscular strength, and flexibility.  This will chart initial overall fitness and help determine personal fitness goals.  Although some training may begin during the first session, the second session will begin implementation of the individualized training program.

Commit To Be Fit

 

This 12-week step-by-step exercise program designed for new or returning exercisers. 

You receive 5-6 consultations with a certified personal trainer, who will tailor a fitness plan based on your exercise history and personal goals. 

You will need to commit to exercising here at the Y,

three (3) times a week. 

Physical benefits include improvements in muscular strength and endurance, aerobic capacity, metabolism and overall increased health.

and reap the rewards 12 weeks later!

Climbing Wall

 

Registration: Waiver must be completed and a parents signature is required for minors

Session Time: Mon-Fri 4pm-8pm

Racquetball Courts

 

Registration: Call ahead to reserve a court at least one hour prior to session and up to 24 hours in advance (unless league).

One hour maximum for doubles/cutthroat play.

Session Time: operating hours

Ages: 5 and up, youth 5-12 years old must

be accompanied by an adult.

PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR MUST BE WORN BY ALL

Palestine YMCA Racquetball League

Registration Closed

 

Registration: Seasonal by league session only

League Fee: Members: $10 -Participants: $30

ALL LEVELS ARE INVITED TO PLAY IN THE LEAGUE

Advanced - Intermediate - Beginners

Ages: 9 & up

 

League play begins the week of June 23, 2008 (Registration ends June 16th)

 

Non member fee allows access only to racquetball courts and only for league games. For unlimited usage, a YMCA membership will be required or a $10 day pass.

 

Players call  their opponents to schedule matches.   Top 4 players in each division will play in the tournament.  If you're looking for someone to play with or are looking for a little friendly competition come in and sign up.

Make new friends and maybe bring home the prize, as if new friends weren't prize enough.
